Clarisse Sky Rig
An intuitive tool made for Clarisse to quickly add natural lighting to your scene
Clarisse Sky Rig is a kit containing several HDR sky sequences and a script to interactively control the time of day and the lighting properties. Not only can you load the provided HDR sky sequences, but you can also load your own hdr files. Sequences will be grouped as one entry and have a (SEQUENCE) suffix. This kit looks best with the ACES workflow.
Direct light is provided by a distant light and the environment lighting is provided by the HDRI. You can control all aspects such as exposure, temperature and saturation.
A handy debug tool is provided which allows you to visualize the sun position on the HDRI. You can offset the sun rotation in case your custom HDRI and sun don’t match. By default all the provided HDRI sequences don’t need offsetting because I made sure the sun rotation on the Y-axis is at 0 degrees.
You can store JSON configurations with common general settings per environment so you don’t need to set them up each time you load in the environment.
You can animate the parameters, but currently the keyframes are only stored on the master control object instead of the rig components. Since it’s a scripted class the animation won’t work when rendering on separate machines like a farm since the renderfarm needs the scripted class installed. I will hopefully resolve this in a future update. It should work fine when rendering on your own machine.

Note: In the video you see me using the Shelf button. You can also use the right click Add menu in the object browser. That will only create the control object without the rig. To create the required rig components select the control object and hit the “Create Rig Objects” button.
